Where is everyone standing?
All poets (including the sacrifice poet) who compete in the Steel City Slam receive 1 participation point towards selection for future marquee shows. Top placing poets receive higher total points:
3rd Place – 3 points | 2nd Place – 4 points | 1st Place – 5 points
Poets participating in Liner Notes will earn 2 participation points towards marquee shows. New sh!t is priceless. Poets participating in shows which do not require original work (such as cover slam or Box of Doom) will receive 1 participation point.
Listed below are the total points earned as of March 2, 2026. Points tally determines who will be invited to perform at our next marquee event. Points earned from May 1, 2025 – March 30, 2026 will be applied to participation in the next Steel City Grand Slam, Monday April 13 at City of Asylum’s Alphabet City Center. The winner of that slam will be the 2025-2026 Steel City Grand Slam Champion.
The top 10 poets are guaranteed an invitation to participate in Grand Slam.
