Upcoming spoken word events [in Pittsburgh]

Listed are Pittsburgh Poetry Collective sponsored and/or affiliated events. We ask that all participants honor our Organizational Code of Conduct and Release and respect each other, our volunteers, and venue employees. Venues are provided our venue safety and accessibility guidelines. Any questions or concerns please contact us.

Most events are still being held remotely. Links are provided in the location column. Poetry & Pints and Open Mic and hang are following a two-round format with a break in between. As usual, poets may read poems on any subject or in any style they choose! Monthly workshops usually have a discussion or input time, writing time, and the opportunity to share drafts created. We’ve also been chatting, reading, show-and-tell-ing, and just making space for each other to check in during this weird time!! Just about anything goes! Online event guidelines HERE.

The Zoom link password is 38. Host logon is about 10 minutes before the posted event time.

As a participant in a Pittsburgh Poetry Collective certified event, I understand:
In accordance with our Free Speech and Brave Space Policy, you may hear or share mature language, mature themes, and/or difficult and/or triggering content on our microphone. Pittsburgh Poetry Collective and all of its projects practice and enforce mandatory consent in our venues and at our shows. Performers, audience, and guests will respect the bodily and creative autonomy of all community members. This includes but isn’t limited to unauthorized touching or affection, or unauthorized reproduction or communication of onstage work. We strive to minimize gendered and binary language in our spaces and on our microphone. The Organizational Code of Conduct, Release, Bylaws, Land Acknowledgement, and Conflict Resolution Procedure are available on our website at https://pghpoetry.org/get-up-on-stage-and-read-poetry/

PLEASE NOTE: events are subject to change. In the case of change or cancellation, the Pittsburgh Poetry Collective will provide updates as they become available.
