Upcoming spoken word events [in Pittsburgh]
Listed are Pittsburgh Poetry Collective affiliated events. In addition, we have partnered with Poetry Lounge for open mic almost every Tuesday.
The PPC welcomes individual(s) of all race, color, class, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, ethnicity, lifestyle, age, ability, disability, or background and by participating in our event actively or inactively you’ve agreed to welcome these individual(s) as well! The PPC does not encourage the presentation of art that may be deemed harmful, derogatory, violent, sexist, racist, transphobic and/or homophobic, etc. We have spoken with our venues and partner organizations before agreeing to collaborate with them and believe that their goals/ideals align with ours. We feel confident that this is a space that will blend together communities and help build relationships. Any questions or concerns please contact us.

As a participant in a Pittsburgh Poetry Collective certified event, I understand:
The Pittsburgh Poetry Collective exists to celebrate the power of the voice. We make and hold space for self-expression, identity exploration, & social justice via spoken word communities, poetry slams, writing & performance workshops, and poet showcases. We welcome any opportunity for lyrical mayhem and believe that poetry heals, speaks, connects, and shares our experiences and differences.
We challenge our poetry family to speak their truth to inspire courage, hope, creativity and self-empowerment. We encourage spirited and free speech, from the performers, volunteers, and attendees. We ask everyone to embrace positive consent and eradicate gendered and binary language. The Organizational Code of Conduct & Release, Bylaws, Land Acknowledgement, and Conflict Resolution Procedure are available on our website at https://pghpoetry.org/get-up-on-stage-and-read-poetry/
