“We are starting to see a downward trend in the number of positive cases throughout the state, which is definitely encouraging,” Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine said in a press release dated April 20. “We need to proceed carefully to make sure the strides we’ve made in combatting this virus continue to move forward. Extending our statewide order until May 8 will ensure that we don’t overwhelm our health system, while helping our economy to recover.”

We know that there are immunocompromised people in our community.  We’ll say it again: social distancing is an act of solidarity with and for at-risk populations.  The Pittsburgh Poetry Collective is following State of PA, CDC, and WHO public health recommendations.  We will move all events through May 8 online to our generously provided Zoom room.  Please post your online-only events in the Pittsburgh Poetry Calendar Facebook Group.

Happy Poetry Month!! Our 30/30 to celebrate #NaPoWriMo is ongoing.  Folx have great poems coming out of daily prompts we are posting from Creative Talents Unleashed and that are available elsewhere.  Other folx (ahem, ME) are not feeling so creative at this time.  You do you, boo.  Things are weird.  The PPC is going to be there on the other side, playing slam and hosting reading circles.
